Strong pedagogical vision

The Kleine Plantage daycare centre is a small-scale and cosy nursery. The homey and warm atmosphere ensures that children and parents quickly feel at ease.

Besides full-day care from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm, we also offer half-day care. Half-days are only available from 8.00 am to 1.30 pm. A combination of full-day and half-day care is also possible. Continuity in front of the group is important to us. We work with a regular team of experienced staff, all of whom work five days a week.

We believe it is very important to encourage children’s independence. The rooms at the Kleine Plantage are designed so that children can grab the toys themselves, decide for themselves whether they want to play inside or outside and what they want to play with.We pay a lot of attention to the development of social skills. Playing together is certainly encouraged, but children who want to be by themselves for a bit while are given every room to do so as well.

Experienced teams

Our team consists of five permanent and highly experienced staff, who work with all children every day. We also have a regular stand-in worker for our location. These familiar faces ensure continuity and an atmosphere of safety and security. Anne Jantzen has been the manager since the 1980s and founded De Kleine Plantage. She knows all the children, parents and staff and you can contact her for any questions you might have.

Full of activities

We do crafts with the children every day and even have our own workshop. Every other week, our resident artist comes to engage in creative activities with the children. Works of art are displayed throughout the building, so everyone can see what kinds of things we do and create. We sing a lot and the “Song Wizard” regularly drops by to make music with the children. This introduces the children to different musical instruments and singing in a playful way.

Healthy lifestyle

The children receive a healthy and varied lunch with fresh wholemeal bread and as many organic spreads as possible. We always provide something extra, like raw vegetables or a salad.
Spending time outdoors and exercising are also part of a healthy lifestyle!We have a beautiful green garden, adjacent to the group rooms and surrounded by other gardens and houses. We play outside here every day. If the weather is good, the doors to the garden open so that the children can go outside by themselves. And we venture outside even in bad weather, putting on our rain boots and rain coats! Our garden is wonderfully peaceful. Being there even seems to transport you to a place outside the city. The large rabbit hutch is home to our two rabbits!
